The renovation of Gozsdu Court was the largest renovation project in the city centre of Budapest. The history of one of the most impressive residential buildings in the city, it dates back to the beginning of the 20th century.
In 1900 a complex consisting of seven buildings and six courts was built by the Foundation of Emanuel Gozsdu, the famous romanian lawyer. The building complex, located in the VI. district connecting Király street No. 13 and Dob street No. 16 was renovated in accordance with laws and regulations regarding the renovation of historic monuments. The complex includes 120 apartments built in Gozsdu Court, as well as 28 shops premises for commercial and catering purposes, located on the ground floor and on the cellar level.
The beautiful facades of the buildings constituting Gozsdu Court were restored to their original appearance and colour. Concurrently, construction work on the residential building located at Holló street No. 10-14 were integrated into the project, and the building in Holló street linked to Holló street No. 6. 126 luxury apartments and 10 commercial premises were built in Holló street, additionally, it gives place to Go Active Healthclub which is the one of the biggest gym in Budapest. Due to the Gozsdu Court restoration to its original architectural beauty and image, once again, social life is bustling again because if the cafés, restaurants, vineries and an open shopping street on the ground floor of the building, which is unique in Budapest. The revival of Gozsdu Court is a tourist attraction.
